Library Now Offers Hoopla - Free Streaming of Movies, Music and TV

Massillon Public Library, in its commitment to offer cutting edge services to its patrons, is proud to add hoopla to the list of services available 24/7 from the library’s website.

Hoopla is a digital media service which enables patrons to borrow a selection of movies, television shows, educational/instructional videos, documentaries, and music via browser, smartphone or tablet (iOS 6 and select Android devices). Whatever you enjoy watching or listening to, there is sure to be something available for you on Hoopla, with no ads or commercials while viewing or listening to content.

In addition to streaming, most titles are available for download only on iOS (iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch) devices. Downloads are playable only in the Hoopla app, and are subject to the available storage space of your device. Not all titles are available for download, but all titles are available for streaming. The mobile hoopla app can be found in the App Store on your iOS device and in the Google Play store on your Android device. Search for "hoopla digital" to find and download the app.

Here are some highlights of hoopla:

  • Once you borrow a title on one device it is automatically available via all devices with the hoopla digital app and via your PC web browsers (IE 8+, Firefox 12+, Safari 5+, Chrome 19+).

  • Within the hoopla app, you can access library news via our news feed; this will help you stay aware of what’s going on at your library.

  • When using hoopla you will be able to begin streaming the content immediately.

  • You will be allowed to borrow at least 6 titles minimum each month

    • Video lends for 72 hours

    • Music lends for 7 days

  • You are able to access (view/listen to) borrowed content as often as you want during the checkout period and you can return any borrowed title whenever you want.

A valid library card and pin number are required to use this free service. Visit www.hoopladigital.com to get started!
