This service provides access to free electronic book lists that can be delivered directly to your email address or RSS reader. The newsletters include reviews, descriptions and author commentaries. The newsletters link directly to the library's online catalog, where you can place holds on items you wish to check out.
Online Book Clubs
Sign up for thematic online book clubs to receive five-minute selections from featured book titles in your email Inbox each weekday morning. By the end of the week, you will have a 2-3 chapter head start on a book, which may then be borrowed from the library if the you want to finish the story. There are currently eleven email book club subjects to choose from, including mysteries, pre-published fiction, non-fiction, books for teens, and several other topics.
Next Good Book
Next Good Book is an interactive site that invites you to create lists of books you have read, label books and keep them on virtual "shelves" or lists in the system, look at shelves created by other readers, and submit comments about books online.
New Book Alerts
New Book Alerts is a free online service that showcases the newest titles purchased by your local library. You can select to receive alerts via email and/or RSS feeds. If you see a new title that you are interested in, just click "borrow" to place a hold on the item right away.
